MORE INFO...►
On January 27, 2012, Altamaha EMC’s billing system
will change the end of your member separator
number, also known as account number, from two
digits to three digits. This seemingly simple
change will allow us to better serve a growing
number of members.
Altamaha EMC’s account numbers now end in a
two-digit separator number. For members with more
than one account, their first member separator
ends with -01. Subsequent accounts go up -02, -03,
-04, etc. With the change, each member will have a
three-digit separator number at the end of their
account (-001), which will also rise with the
number of accounts (-001, -002, -003, etc.)
Altamaha EMC has worked to make the transition to
the new account numbers as seamless as possible,
but depending on the method you use to pay your
monthly electric bill, you may need to pay special
attention to this account number change.
If you use our online bill payment system to pay
your bill, the new three-digit separator number
will automatically appear in the payment system
beginning January 27th.
If you have authorized Altamaha EMC to draft your
payment from your checking account or credit/debit
card, we will make the necessary changes to our
records to update your account number.
If you use your bank’s website to pay your
electric bill, you will need to change your
electric account number for payments made after
January 27th. Be sure to log into your bank’s
payment system and update your electric account
number.
Your account number can be found in the upper
left-hand corner of your bill. It also appears on
the remittance stub portion of your bill (see
sample above). Please contact us at 912-526-8181
if you have any questions. We will be happy to
assist you to make this change as easy as
possible.

ALTAMAHA
EMC SYSTEM UPGRADES
During
the next few months, Altamaha EMC crews and
contractors will be performing improvements to our
electrical distribution system in areas of Toombs
County as illustrated by the map on the right.
These improvements will require the power to be
off occasionally for brief intervals. All outages
will be kept to a minimum. Whenever possible, if
we are working on the line or transformer that
serves your home directly, we will come to your
home in an attempt to notify you before
disconnecting the power.
Please note that all vehicles will be marked with
the Altamaha EMC logo on the doors. All employees
and contractors carry ID cards with their photo
and a phone number to verify their employment. If
you have any questions regarding the legitimacy of
someone claiming to be an Altamaha EMC employee or
contractor, please call our office at
912-526-8181.
All payments options are now
available at no extra charge
Effective immediately, Altamaha EMC is no longer charging
a convenience fee for payments made using credit/debit
cards or e-checks.
To make paying your electric bill easier and faster, we
